White Lodge (Maycroft Villa) was built by architect George Champlin Mason (1820-1894) for Henry Sigourney. It was later owned by Samuel Wyllys Pomeroy and David King.

The house was purchased by George T.M. Davis before 1870 and left to Chester Hasbrouck Davis who sold it after 1876. Alfred Smith purchased the house before 1883 as an investment. He sold the house before 1907 to Thomas Dolan.

This shows the original property outline according to the Newport Map of 1907. The original house was built @1879 by George Champlin Mason for James Powell Kernochan. John Dixon Johnston remodeled the house in 1887. The original house was demolished prior to 1923 when Howard Greenley built the existing "SeavIew Terrace" for Edson J. Bradley.

The original house was built before 1876. It was replaced in 1898 by Peabody & Stearns for Jonathon Hone Foster, Fanny's father. The style is Victorian/Queen Anne with Colonial Revival details.

The main house was called "Sea Cove" or "The Fo'Castle." It was built between 1893-1898 for a William Murray. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (Ocean Drive Historic District #83). The original vacant land was first owned by John Noble Alsop Griswold (until @ 1893) and then by Robert Lenox Kennedy who must have sold the property to Murray.

The Newport 1893 map shows this as vacant land. The Newport 1907 map shows this as belonging to E. Walter Histed (so built between 1893 and 1907). It was originally referred to as "Waterlot."
